PRIVACY POLICY
(the “Privacy Policy”)
TRIUS INSURANCE and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively the “Organization”) are committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store and otherwise process information. In addition, this Policy states how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of information.
We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
You have the right at any time to revoke consent and the Organization will stop using and processing your personal information.
What kind of Information do we collect and how do we use the information?
If you request information, products or services from the Organization, you may be asked to provide personal information. Personal information refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
The Organization collects personal information about you in connection with many of our services. The Organization may ask you for personal information such as your name, contact details including mailing address, date of birth, marital status, claims history, accident history, traffic ticket records, email address, , or credit card information. In addition, you may be providing personal information when:
(i) communicating with the Organization via phone calls, emails, social media, and other methods of communication;
(ii) subscribing the Organization’s marketing material;
(iii) applying for a job; or
(iv) providing services to the Organization.
We collect this information to:

a) understand your needs;

b) provide you products and services, to fulfill your requests for products or services, or to help us personalize our offerings to you. In some cases, this involves sharing your information with a third-party service provider for the purpose of serving you and providing you with the information, products or services you have requested;

c) to determine your eligibility for products and services;

c) to determine the suitability of our services to you and the suitability of any particular third party service provider for you;

d) we also use your personal information to support our business functions, such as fraud prevention, marketing, and legal functions, including but not limited to:

Providing you with information, products, services and programs;

Conducting an investigation into a suspected breach of contract, a violation of the Organization’s policies and procedures, or contravention of the law;

Contacting you in the unlikely event of a data security breach or legal proceeding, or contacting you if we believe doing so is in your best interest; and

Meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
The personal information you provide is never disclosed to third parties without your consent.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to other organizations or companies without your explicit consent.
When personal information is shared with others, it is only in ways that have been explained to you in advance. The limited exceptions to this rule include when:

The Organization may be required by law enforcement, government institutions, or judicial or regulatory authorities to provide information without notifying you;

An investigation must be conducted into a suspected breach of contract, a violation of the Organization’s policies or procedures, or a contravention of the law; or

A disclosure is necessary in the context of a data security breach or legal proceeding
We require that any third-party who we disclose your personal information to agree to keep all confidential information we share with them and to use the information only to perform their obligations in the agreements we have in place with them. These third-party’s are expected to maintain privacy and security protections that are consistent with the Organization’s privacy and information security policies.
Security Measures Taken to Protect Personal Information
Security of all information is of the utmost importance for the Organization. The Organization uses technical and physical safeguards to protect the security of your personal information from unauthorized disclosure. We also endeavor to ensure that only necessary people and third parties have access to personal information. Any physical copies of documents we may have containing your personal information are restricted to employee use, as requested, and are stored in locked filing cabinets.
Data Retention and Storage
The Organization retains your information for business purposes, for as long as your file is active, and/or as long as is reasonably necessary to provide you with our products and services.
The Organization will also retain your information as reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
At any point in time, you can withdraw consent and we will immediately stop processing your personal information.

If you would like to express your point of view, challenge an explanation of data use, or otherwise obtain further information, you have the right to access and limit the use and disclosure of your personal information;

At any time, your personal information changes or is inaccurate;

You would like to confirm your data is being processed or to access your data;

You would like the Organization to erase any of your personal information that is no longer necessary; or
-
If you would like the Organization to stop using or processing your data.
The Organization will investigate any complaints or requests made and will take appropriate measures within thirty (30) days of your request. There may be a charge associated with us responding to your request depending on the nature of the inquiry.
Where there is a significant change to this Privacy Policy, we may email all of our customers with the details of the new changes, and where required by law, we will obtain your consent to these changes.
